The Harz natives have long sought to protect their environment, as they naturally did not wish to ruin the foundation of their economy. As early as the fifteenth century, trees were planted in order to use wood as a raw material for mining and metallurgy for future generations. Thus people already pursued ecologically-sound manufacturing processes long before the word "sustainable" was spoken.

Because of our location at the realm of the "Naturpark Harz," we feel obligated to our environment. Since 1998 we have been certified according to DIN EN ISO 14001.

Water-based products make up 60 percent of our production, a tendency which is consistenly climbing.

Technologies that have been used to produce non-pollutant paints for childrens' toys are now being used for "normal" coatings, in order to consistently improve the environment.
