Zinc dust paints are high quality anti-corrosive primers with excellent protective qualities through electrolytic corrosion protection (an electrochemical process, comparable with corrosion protections through external voltage). Scratches, stone impact and similar damages are protected through a "self-healing" feature, thereby preventing rusting.
High-quality zinc dust paints achieve a similar protection to a hot fluid Zinc-bath and are used for parts that for technical reasons cannot be galvanised. Because of their low percentage of solvents, zinc dust paints are considered to be ecologically sound.
